Powerful outreach potential
Watch this DivorceCare webcam video to see how DivorceCare grows churches!
DivorceCare is much more than an in-house support group and care resource. DivorceCare is the foundation of a powerful outreach and evangelism ministry for your church.
Draws hurting people to your church
People facing separation and divorce are experiencing a life trauma. It affects them emotionally, financially, physically and spiritually. Hurt and confused, they often do not know where to turn for help.
When divorced and separated people discover that your church offers a DivorceCare program, it’s likely that they’ll come. Why? Hurting people are desperately searching for solutions. That’s why many churches report that over 85% of those who attend a DivorceCare group are not from their church. Significantly, half do not have an active spiritual life and are not followers of Christ.
Presents the gospel
During the 13-week DivorceCare series, participants hear the gospel multiple times within the video sessions. Their Participant Workbooks contain a detailed explanation of the gospel message, plus a daily Bible study. DivorceCare’s Christ-centered content shows those who are hurting how the Bible and the message of the gospel apply to their current situation.
Will help grow your church family
The DivorceCare participants will visit your church for several weeks as they attend group meetings. Many non-churchgoing participants will also begin to visit on Sunday mornings. As a result, there are several opportunities to build relationships with them and integrate them into your church family.
Offers a family-focused strategy for divorce ministry
If you elect to offer the companion DivorceCare for Kids program, parents will be drawn to your church as a way to help their hurting children. Some parents might be reluctant to participate in the adult program, but would be willing to place their children in a DC4K group. When they see how their children begin to heal, many will be drawn to the adult group.
Serves as a portal into the broader life of your church
After DivorceCare group members have completed one or more DivorceCare group cycles, the DivorceCare leaders encourage those participants who do not have a church affiliation to connect with other areas of church life for further growth and fellowship.
