How DivorceCare works
Video, small group process and workbook study lead participants to healing
Watch this DivorceCare webcam video to see how easy it is for your lay people to lead DivorceCare!
Over 13 weeks, DivorceCare shows participants how to access the hope, help and healing that God offers. Here’s how it works:
Participants attend 13 video-based sessions
Participants meet for 13 weekly DivorceCare sessions. Each session features helpful, comforting videos and encouraging group discussion. A typical meeting looks a lot like this:
DivorceCare group members view a 30–40 minute video: The video features the insights of the Christian community’s top divorce recovery experts. The video also presents the stories, reflections and advice of those who’ve healed from divorce or separation.
Leaders facilitate group discussion: After viewing the video, lay leaders guide participants in talking with one another about what they’ve seen in the video. Group members will also explain how their daily DivorceCare workbook exercises are helping them see their situation from God’s perspective. During the discussion, group members also share the challenges they’re facing and victories they’re experiencing. The DivorceCare Leader’s Guide includes weekly discussion questions to help leaders direct the discussion.
Participants grow and heal using the DivorceCare workbook
Each DivorceCare participant receives a workbook. This workbook helps participants sort their thoughts and emotions and helps them discover what God says about their situation. Each workbook contains daily Bible studies, weekly journal sections, a gospel presentation, tear-out Scripture cards and more.
